Justin is running to bring efficient digital administration, non-partisan transparency, and community-centered service to the Clay Town Clerk's office.
Justin Bailey is a lifelong resident of the Town of Clay who understands the struggles we face and the best path forward for our community. Raised by two middle-class parents, a broadcast engineer and a college educator, he knows firsthand the grit and daily effort it takes to build a better future for the next generation. Their determination and wit serve as constant reminders for him to bring his best self to every challenge. A proud graduate of Liverpool High School, Justin worked his way through Binghamton University, earning his degree in Political Science and Government. Today, he channels that strong work ethic into public service in downtown Syracuse, dedicating his time to advocating for those who lack the resources to fight for themselves.
Justin's sense of duty was forged early on. At 17, he became the eighth member of his family to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Following his family's legacy, he also joined the Moyers Corners Fire Department Explorer Post as a Junior Firefighter. He continues to volunteer as an Interior Firefighter, and serves as the department's Treasurer. In his professional life, he works as a Law Assistant at the Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society in downtown Syracuse, helping provide legal services to those who cannot afford the representation they deserve.

A primary duty of local government is informing citizens and addressing their concerns . Today, it is more important than ever for our government to be highly accessible and responsive. You shouldn't have to rely on group chats or the rumor mill to know about emergencies or important local events. As your Town Clerk, I will provide reliable updates on the issues that impact your daily life and ensure this Town is easy to reach when you need assistance.
Growing up in a working-class household, I know how hard it is to balance long workdays with everyday responsibilities. No one should be forced to take time off from work just to access essential government services. That is why I will extend the Town Clerk's office hours and expand online services.
As we continue to grapple with the effects of Micron and other changes to our community, it is more important than ever to make a long-term plan for how we want our community to develop in the years to come. As your town clerk, I will work closely with community and county officials to ensure this town have a comprehensive plan in place for wherever the next few decades take us.
The arrival of Micron and other new industries presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the Town of Clay for decades to come. While I am excited to welcome these new opportunities, I also recognize the potential risks. Having grown up near the shores of Onondaga Lake, we know firsthand the devastating impact pollution can have on our community and our environment. As your Town Clerk, protecting our community from these risks and ensuring a fair partnership with these industries will be one of my top priorities
